Your 7TV emotes,
everywhere on Discord.Discord icon

7DC started as a simple idea: bringing the 7TV Twitch emote experience — especially wide-emotes — to Discord. It's tied to your account and works across DMs, group chats and servers, with no bot needed in each channel - but also features server-install!

Server Installation

Besides the personal install, 7DC can be added to a server to enable server-wide features. The install link offers both options — choose Add to server.

  • Server-wide emote-set. A server owner/administrator can configure one shared 7TV emote-set with /serverset set. The set is validated through the 7TV API before it is saved, so only existing, non-empty sets can be configured.
  • Which emotes are used where? In a server with a configured set, everyone uses it by default. In servers without one — and in DMs and group chats — each member's personal 7TV connection applies.
  • Personal opt-out. Members can run /serverset prefer-personal enable:On to keep using their own collection in that server; enable:Off switches back. This only affects the member who runs it.
  • Emotes as server emojis. Members with Manage Expressions can turn any 7TV emote into a real server emoji with /add, subject to the server emoji limit. Very wide/tall emotes are rejected.
  • Setup hint. After being added to a server, 7DC posts a short message pointing owners/administrators to /serverset set.

Performance & Caching

  • Instant search. Your 7TV emote-list is cached in-memory for 10 minutes, so suggestions appear instantly without waiting for an API response.
  • Efficient API usage. Caching prevents unnecessary requests to 7TV's servers, keeping the integration smooth and stable.
  • Rate limiting. Requests to the 7TV API are throttled to at most 100 requests per second to stay well within fair-use limits.

Data & Privacy

  • No private data. The app does not collect or store passwords, emails or private messages.
  • Public IDs only. It only maps your public Discord ID to your public 7TV ID — both already visible on your public profiles.
  • No tracking. Your emote usage is never tracked, stored or logged. 7DC simply acts as a bridge to display your own 7TV collection.

Limitations

  • Emote previews are not possible.
  • Emote Reactions do not feature autocompletion.
